IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME A young pastor I know was given a vision in 1981. The Lord showed him how his church would become a great healing and missionary center in Southern California.
Naturally, the pastor hoped this would happen overnight. It didn't. After six years of intense labor and sacrifice, the congregation is still small. Miracles are happening – but not in ways he had anticipated. In short, it's been "two steps forward, one step back" every inch of the way.
Are you waiting tonight? Has the Lord promised you the salvation of a loved one? A ministry? A marriage? A child? Better health? Are you crying out in the night, "Why has it been so long? Have I been deceived? Has the vision died?
The prophet Habakkuk experienced the same agonizing frustration when, instead of his vision coming to pass, circumstances got worse. One day he stood on the tower and wailed to God. God answered:
"...the vision is yet for an appointed time, and it hastens to the end (fulfillment); it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait (earnestly) for it; because it will surely come, it will not be behindhand on its appointed day" (Habakkuk 2:3, AMP).
Be encouraged tonight; your vision will be fulfilled. Though the waiting seems long, continue to rejoice and obey. It will come to pass in God's timing which is the perfect time, when you will be ready and the blessing or anointing will not cause you to stumble.
