MINE TO GIVE

In today's materialistic world, it's all too easy to become over-involved with, even trapped by our possessions. Worry over what you "own," what you "need," or "who owes you" is one weapon Satan can use to keep you awake at night and keep your mind on the world instead of your Lord.

One partner recently realized she was harboring a spirit of possessiveness...constantly upset when people used "her things." When she repented of this the Lord gave her rest by enlightening her with the same attitude Paul expressed when he said, "God has already given you everything you need. He has given you Paul and Apollos and Peter as your helpers. He has given you the whole world to use, and life and even death are your servants. He has given you all of the present and all of the future. All are yours, And you belong to Christ..." (1 Corinthians 3:21-23, TLB).

What a tremendous peace will come with knowing that you need not covet or cling to anything. God has given you everything so that you can use it to bless others! What deliverance there is when you no longer say, "It's mine!" but rather, "Praise God, it's mine to give!"

Heavenly Father, I thank You that any possession I have can be given or loaned for Your glory. No longer will I covet or selfishly cling to the things You have given me to use. Everything is Yours. Teach me to reflect Your generous nature to others. For I know that whatever I give, You will replenish! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
