PITY TRAP A man with a worldwide deliverance ministry once asked, "Of all the foul spirits that can oppress a person, which one do you think is the hardest to deal with in deliverance?" My mind raced through all the obvious answers: greed, lust, hate, etc., but they were all wrong. The answer was the spirit of self-pity. Why? Because people don't want to give it up!
Self-pity is also one of the greatest contributors to a sleepless night. How many nights have you spent attending your own pity-party? "Nobody understands me! Nobody knows what I'm going through. Poor me, everything looks so hopeless."
If you find yourself feeling like this tonight, stop and consider. See what the spirit of self-pity is doing to you. See how it has deceived you. For those of us in Christ, it should not be that "I'm not loved; I don't have this, and I don't have that." The reality is, in Him, you have everything you need for life and godliness. Tonight, let God remind you there is no need for self-pity because you are rich in Him.
"For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness dwell...For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power..." (Colossians 1:19; 2:9-10, NKJV).
Rebuke the spirit of self-pity that Satan would use to keep you down...be delivered from the pity trap. Trust in God and tap into His promised fullness, instead.
