ANOTHER CHANCE

"I wish I could just forget everything and start my life over." Have you ever been consumed by that thought at night? If you are yearning for "another chance," a fresh start, then I have good news for you. God has already given it to you. Unfortunately, some of you may have failed to seize it, so you don't realize anything has changed.

The Apostle Paul explains that when you receive Christ, you automatically receive forgiveness. Your sins become a dead issue with God. You also receive a future in Him. This includes a new nature and an open door to walk in the newness of His life. But some of you may not have walked through that door. You have not seized the fresh start. You are still clinging to your old sin nature which is dead! You need to realize:

"...just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life...knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin, For he who has died has been freed from sin" (Romans 6:4, 7, NKJV).

You have been given the opportunity to use God's miraculous power within you to "forget everything and start over"...to throw off every sinful habit of the past. Seize the chance! Time is short. Start tonight to walk through the door of new life.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for refusing to use Your power to overcome sin, and choosing my old ways instead. Remove the burden of guilt I feel from living a "dead" life. Help me to see the distinction between my old life and the new, rejoicing that both my sins and my sin nature are dead, and that I have newness of life in You! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
