History:
A long-time dream of Morris Cerullo, President of Morris Cerullo World Evangelism headquartered in San Diego, California, Helpline has hit the airwaves again after 30 years. A forerunner of today’s popular reality shows, the Helpline program had unparalleled success during the 16-week inaugural series of programs broadcast back in 1974 from Hollywood’s NBC studios.
Morris’ longing to reach the hurting multitudes through television only grew stronger, and now he has realized the fulfillment of that desire 32 years later. Today, Helpline has become one of the biggest reality programs on television with a growing program distribution.
In less than a year, Helpline has received over 200,000 calls from hurting, desperate people seeking the promise of the show’s theme: "Miracles Happen When Someone Cares and We Care What Happens to You!" as they waited their turns to speak with the caring, volunteer prayer ministers who offered them encouragement and a connection to the God who answers prayer.
Helpline is exploding worldwide! Already, Helpline has touched hearts and changed lives in over 150 nations. Though Helpline continues to grow rapidly with more television stations being added and greater outreach to the masses, every individual who calls in or watches the program is vitally important to Helpline, and to Morris Cerullo.
Morris interviews special guests with miracle testimonies, and also prays personally for some of those who call in with life-threatening situations. This grandfatherly man exudes the love and compassion of God toward each person on the CBS studio set as well as talking heart-to-heart into the TV camera just as if he was speaking personally to each Helpline viewer.
